• EC2 Managed AWS Geographic Expansion is the team responsible for building one of Earth's largest distributed systems - AWS - at scale.

• We own the software and tooling to automate building the foundation of the cloud in new Regions and Availability zones.
• As a manager on this team, you will lead a group of engineers who build and maintain these tools.
• You will help your team decide what to work on, remove obstacles, and grow their careers.
• You will work with partner teams across Amazon to understand what builders need and make sure your team focuses on problems that matter.
• You will also use the latest AI technologies to innovate in this space.
• This role requires someone who can balance people management with technical depth.
• You need to understand the systems your team builds well enough to help with technical decisions, while also focusing on hiring, coaching, and career development for your engineers.

Requirements

• Practical experience with Go, Java, AWS, C++.
• Experience level: 3+ yrs.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Comfortable working on-site in Herndon, Virginia, USA.
